Phillip List has served as Chairman of the Board of 1st State Bank since its inception. Mr. List has over 40 years of financial services experience with Frankenmuth Bank & Trust, First of America Mid Michigan and National City Bank, all in the Great Lakes Bay Region. His experience includes personal and business banking, financial/investment management and overall bank administration/executive management. Mr. List is active in the Midland-based Blue Water Angel Investment Network.
Rick Goedert serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of 1st State Bank. Mr. Goedert was the President and Chief Executive Officer of 1st State Bank for 12 years. He has over 35 years of banking experience, with 25 years in the Saginaw, Bay City and Midland market. Mr. Goedert was in a senior management role responsible for lending with National City Bank  and First of America Mid-Michigan for 20 years. He served as Senior Vice President and Manager of the Private Client Group for National City. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of National City Mortgage. In 2015 Mr. Goedert was appointed to the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve. Mr. Goedert has been a member of the Board of Directors of Saginaw Valley State University’s Foundation and the Stevens Center for Family Business. Mr. Goedert has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, and was inducted into the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame in 2019.
Jim Milroy serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of 1st State Bank. He was appointed to the 1st State Bank Board of Directors in 2018. Prior to joining 1st State Bank in 2007 as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Milroy led Shoreline Bank in Benton Harbor, Michigan as President. After a merger with Chemical Bank in 2002, he transferred to their headquarters in Midland. Mr. Milroy has over 30 years of banking experience. His current involvements include: Chairman, Covenant Healthcare Board of Directors; Chairman, Junior Achievement of North Central Michigan Board of Directors; Board Member of the Great Lakes Bay Alliance; Vice President of the Saginaw Valley Lutheran Foundation, and Member of the Saginaw Community Foundation Investment Committee.
Todd Gregory serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer of 1st State Bank. Mr. Gregory has been appointed as 1st State Bank’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective July 2024. He was appointed to 1st State Bank’s Board of Directors in 2023. Prior to joining 1st State Bank, Gregory had 20 years of banking experience, serving as Business Banking Manager and Saginaw Community President for Huntington Bank, as well as their Community President in Gaylord, Michigan. Mr. Gregory has been actively involved in numerous community organizations, currently serving as Vice Chair of the Saginaw Community Foundation, and board member of Bay Future Inc. and the Saginaw Downtown Development Authority. 
Mitzi Dimitroff is a founding member of 1st State Bank.  Ms. Dimitroff owns RDS Management, a business that develops and manages the day-to-day operations of properties.  In addition, Ms. Dimitroff is a board member of Tri Star Trust Bank and McLaren Bay Hospital.  She is a founding member of the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance.  She has been awarded the YWCA Princess Wenonah Award, the Girl Scouts’ Women of Distinction Award, and the Chamber of Commerce Athena Award.  She was inducted into the Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame in 2006.  Ms. Dimitroff is an Elder and Trustee at First Presbyterian Church in Bay City.
Joseph R. Fabiano II is one of the founding members of 1st State Bank and Owner of Fabiano Brothers Inc., a fourth-generation family-owned beverage wholesale company distributing beer and RTD beverages in Michigan and Wisconsin. Mr. Fabiano is active in numerous local civic, charitable and University programs including past Chairman of the Michigan Chamber of Commerce as well as several non-profits in the Midland and Detroit areas. Mr. Fabiano supports various industry groups and committee liaisons.  Currently, serving as Past Chairman of the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association as well as Chairman of the Michigan Liquor Control Commissions Liaison, MBWWA PAC Director and Chairman of the Services Organization.  Mr. Fabiano was awarded the 2004 “Michigan Key Wholesaler Award” by his peers in the beverage business. In addition to his tenure at Fabiano Brothers, he served as a public defender in Harper Woods, Michigan and in private practice in Southfield, Michigan.
Michael L. Hanisko was appointed to 1st State Bank’s Board of Directors in 2014.  Mr. Hanisko is a partner at Weinlander Fitzhugh Certified Public Accountants & Advisors in Bay City, Michigan. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); he is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Hanisko has been actively involved in numerous community organizations, serving on the boards of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Bay Area Community Foundation, United Way of Bay County, Bay City Morning Rotary Club among others.
Max Holman joined 1st State Bank’s Board of Directors in 2019.  Mr. Holman is a co-owner of The Bay Cast Companies and President and General Manager of Bay Cast Incorporated. He is a current board member of the Bay Area Community Foundation, and Steel Founders Society of America. Mr. Holman has also served as board member for Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, Michigan Chamber of Commerce, Great Lakes Bay Economics Club, Junior Achievement of North Central Michigan, and the local board for the American Foundry Society.
Paul Barbeau was appointed to the 1st State Bank Board of Directors in 2019. Mr. Barbeau works for Dow as Director, Real Estate Strategy and Facility Development. He serves on various boards and committees including: Greater Midland Community Center Board of Directors, Michigan Baseball Foundation Board of Directors, and Downtown Development Authority, City of Midland, Board of Directors.
Carrie Mahar Kessel joined 1st State Bank’s Board of Directors in 2021. Ms.  Kessel is the Chief Operations Officer and part-owner of her family owned business, Mahar Tool Supply. She is a strong advocate of community involvement, some of her involvements include: the YMCA Board of Directors, Junior League of Saginaw, Women in Leadership, and the Stevens Center for Family Business.
Timothy Hausbeck was appointed to the 1st State Bank Board of Directors in 2021. Mr. Hausbeck is President, Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of Hausbeck Pickles & Peppers. He currently serves on the boards of Covenant Healthcare  and the Saginaw Country Club. He previously served on the board of Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce, and held the position of board chair in 2018. Mr. Hausbeck is a past recipient of the Chamber’s Dr. Samuel H. Shaheen Vision of Free Enterprise award.
Kristopher (Kip) Northrup is the owner and founder of Blue Thumb, a manufacturer of water feature equipment, located in Saginaw. He has several other real estate investments and business interests in the Great Lakes Bay Region. Mr. Northrup serves on the Board of the Saginaw Valley Nursery and Landscape Association (SVNLA) and is a member of the Stevens Center for Family Business.
Alan Gurski is president and chief executive officer of Gougeon Brothers Inc. located in Bay City. Gougeon Brothers is an employee-owned business that manufactures epoxy products including WEST SYSTEM®, PRO-SET® and ENTROPY RESINS® for the marine and composites industries.  Mr. Gurski is also managing partner of PRO-VAC USA LLC.
Tom Basil, Jr. is a partner and managing attorney at Shinners & Cook, a law firm based in the Great Lakes Bay Region.  For the past thirty years, he focused his efforts on assisting clients with business transactions, real estate sales and purchases, mergers, and acquisitions.  He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctorate from Marquette University.  He is a member of the Michigan and Saginaw Bar Associations and is a licensed real estate broker.  He is a Board Member of the 100 Club of Saginaw, the Hartley Outdoor Education Foundation, Ascension St. Mary’s Foundation Board, and the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce.  He is also a graduate of the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Saginaw program.
